Explore Your Career Options

CAREER EXPLORATION might sound like a daunting task but if can be fun to explore the possibilities available to you.

Start by going to the WebPages of the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Association for Psychological Science (APS).

Consider becoming a student member.  Student memberships in these organizations (APA, APS) tend to be relatively inexpensive (approximately $35/year) and will provide you with access to lots of great information and resources.

But even if you are not a member you can access some of the information available on these sites, including information about careers.

One of my favorite sites to explore is APAs page for Interesting Careers in Psychological Science.  Here you can read about the career paths of many people who pursued non academic careers in psychology.

Good luck in your career exploration.  Remember have fun.  As you explore career paths talk with your academic adviser as to how you can shape your undergraduate courses and experience to earn your degree in psychology and achieve your career goals.
